Our freedoms and our communities are being threatened by actions at all levels of government.

In response, a broad, people-powered movement is forming across Indiana. Everyday Hoosiers across the state are recognizing something is broken in our government, and it doesn’t have to be this way. Together, we can build a better future for our families and communities.

To build momentum for this movement, we invite you to participate in a “Summer of Solidarity” from Flag Day (6/14) through the "official" end of summer (9/21), 2025. The idea is simple:

Illustration of Indiana with a sunflower labeled "SOS" beaming light over a city and farm scene. Text reads: "Summer of Solidarity – Freedom. Democracy. Truth."
  1. Come together as Hoosiers for conversation, community building, and collective action.
  2. Make use of the symbolism of sunflowers 🌻 (resistance, solidarity, unity, peace), the American flag (freedom, justice, unity, American ideals), and SOS (distress signal, call for help).
  3. Visit https://www.organizingindiana.org/summer-of-solidarity to join the movement, share ideas, and download resources like an action guide, conversation guide, and more.
  4. Use the hashtag #SOS2025

This campaign offers a common theme and simple framework–how you participate is up to you. It is our hope that grassroots groups, civic organizations, community groups, places of worship, businesses, and individuals make use of the logo, symbols, and guides to help build a collective sense of solidarity and unity in the everyday activities and events of an Indiana summer.

Wherever you look, let there be a sunflower or invitation to connect with one another in solidarity for what we love most about this land of the free, and what we are willing to do to protect our hard-won freedoms.

The Summer of Solidarity Campaign was created as a free community resource by Organizing IndianaMADVotersHoosiers for Democracy, and Community Action Coalition.
