Rural Power Packs

The Indiana Rural Summit helps recruit, retain, and incubate candidates. Nobody runs alone. We help candidates representing rural and small-town communities, often running in difficult districts lacking county-level infrastructure. We are about base building through electoral organizing and increasing voter turnout to win races.

Power Packs are state Senate-anchored candidate-block target races, surrounded by competitive and long-shot House races, moving together as a wave. (Power Packs are based on the Virginia Grassroots Coalition model.)

Explore Power Packs Here:

  • Power Packs: 61 Indiana Rural Summit candidates in 10 focused packs — each candidate appears once
  • My Pack: Find your candidate coalition by county, candidate, or district number
  • Fundraisers: ActBlue fundraiser pages for Indiana Rural Summit Power Pack coalitions — Senate-anchored and House-anchored donor pools supporting candidates running together as a wave
  • IN Partisan Lean Index (IN-Index): How far each district leans Republican or Democratic, based on recent election results apportioned to districts using census block assignments.
  • Candidate Info Sheets: This is powerful tool to get to know your candidates, their districts, and what they say about their campaign.

You can support a Target Power Pack, a Fundraiser Power Pack, or contribute directly to individual candidates. No matter what, we want every voter to feel empowered to support a TEAM OF CANDIDATES running to win.

Intern Program

The Indiana Rural Summit Intern Program connects emerging leaders with candidates and campaigns serving rural and small-town communities across the state. Through hands-on experience in organizing, communications, voter outreach, event planning, and community engagement, interns gain real-world skills while helping strengthen local democracy where it is needed most.

Our goal is to support 20 interns working alongside candidates and organizers across Indiana. These internships provide meaningful opportunities for students and young professionals who may not otherwise have access to campaign training, mentorship, and leadership development. At the same time, they expand the capacity of candidates working to reach voters in communities that are too often overlooked.

Training to Go the Distance

Flyer for Training Program

Our goal is simple: Equip rural candidates with the tools they need to compete in both the digital and in-person realities of modern campaigning, meeting voters where they are, whether at the door, on the phone, or online. Your support provides the training and technology that will help our candidates break through the national noise.
